AUGUSTA — The Veterans Memorial Cemetery Association has elected new officers as follows: Bertrand E. Lafrance, vice chairman; Glenda Knowlan, secretary; Arthur J. Roy, chairman; Nathaniel Cobb, past chairman; and Roland Leach, treasurer.

The group has representatives from the major veterans organizations; Department of Defense, Veterans and Emergency Management commissioner; Bureau of Veterans Services director; Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery representative; Funeral Directors of Maine representative and Maine Legislature representative.

The group assists the state in beautification of a nondemoninational chapel and cemetery grounds at the two state cemeteries.
