NEWCASTLE – Adam Shaffstall smacked a two-run home run in the seventh inning to lift Oak Hill to a 4-2 win over Lincoln Academy.

The Raiders (4-0) trailed 2-0 after three innings, then tied the game in the fourth. Mike Daggett went the distance and earned his second win of the season.

Ryan Sirois led the way for Lincoln (1-3) with an RBI double. Joe Clark came in to relieve Pat Howell in the seventh and was credited with the loss.

Leavitt 2, Gardiner 1

GARDINER – Dave Hopkins took advantage of an overthrown ball by Gardiner’s catcher to score the game-winning run in the ninth inning Wednesday as Leavitt snuck by Gardiner 2-1.

Hopkins reached on a walk, advanced to second on Jeremy Brewer’s sacrifice, then stole third and wound up scoring when the throw sailed into the outfield.

Brewer came in to relieve starter Dustin Gilbert and picked up the win.

Stefan Black went the distance for Gardiner and was credited with the loss.

Gould 13, Hebron 3

BETHEL – Ken Olson struck out four while contributing a triple as Gould sailed to a 13-3 win over Hebron.

Gould (5-1) scored six runs in the home half of the first inning to take command. Catcher Anthony Liberti had a triple, while Ian Dalpour smashed a double for Gould.

Jameson Wheatley hit Hebron’s (2-3) only extra base hit of the contest with a double.

Oxford Hills 9, Mt. Blue 4

SOUTH PARIS – Garrett Olson scattered two hits and ripped a solo home run to lead Oxford Hills to a 9-4 win over Mt. Blue in a KVAC baseball.

Olson had three hits and three RBIs in a strong offensive effort. Brent Grenier also contributed with a double for Oxford Hills.

Aaron Wolfe went 3-for-3 for Mt. Blue. Briann Wells contributed with two RBIs.

Lacrosse
New Hampton 6, Hebron 4

HEBRON – Brett Smith and Ule Worthen netted a pair of goals to lift New Hampton to a 6-4 win over Hebron boys’ lacrosse.

The contest got off to a slow start with New Hampton (1-3) finding the back of the net once in each of the first two quarters.

Hebron’s (1-5) Karl Augustin scored a pair of goals along with Brandon Bates and Jake Singer’s singles to match New Hampton’s performance in the third quarter. Goalie Do Hyung Kim made eight saves on 12 shots, while Liam Walker stopped two of the four shots he faced for Hebron.
