Middle schoolers ask the superintendent to reconsider the calendar.
Editor’s note: The students in Mark Simpson’s social studies class at Mt. Blue Middle School invited SAD 9 Superintendent Michael Cormier to their classroom to discuss concerns about three additional school days added to the calendar to make up for three days missed at the start of the year for construction delays at the school. Although Dr. Cormier did not accept the students’ invitation, Mt. Blue Middle School Principal Gary Oswald did meet with the students. What follows are portions of some letters the students addressed to the superintendent.
