AUBURN – SHAREcenter will hold a special two-day fund-raising sale of first quality Falcon items at Falcon headquarters on Friday and Saturday, May 9 and 10. These products will be sold at below-wholesale prices.
The sale is open to the public as well as to educators, administrators, schools and nonprofit programs.
Proceeds will support the growth and expansion of SHAREcenter, a nonprofit resource center serving central and coastal Maine. SHAREcenter provides tons of materials each year to area students, teachers and social service recipients.
School departments save by participating in the annual membership program. Businesses (and some individuals) donate overstocked items, scrap, samples, dated materials and other items for reuse.
Educators can use their receipts, up to $250, toward the new annual educators’ tax deduction.
The products will include scissors, including craft and school; glitter rulers plus the traditional wood and metal edged rulers and measuring sticks; all kinds of fasteners (clips, fasteners, push pins, washers); plus a selection of wooden novelty, gift and keepsake items.
Crates and boxes for CDs, videos, diskettes and file or recipe cards will be available. Specialty wood items such as aromatic red cedar boxes, maple pens and flashlights, train whistles, baseball bat pens and wooden trays will be available also.
SHAREcenter volunteers will staff the event. Those interested can preview a display of the items and place early orders at SHAREcenter from now until Thursday, May 8.
SHAREcenter is located on Academy Street in the lower level of the Great Falls School. It will be open Tuesday and Wednesday from 1 to 5 p.m. or Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. Persons can also call the center at 795-0972 for an appointment.
The sale will be held in Falcon’s arboretum at 225 First Flight Drive. The fund-raiser sale hours are noon to 6 p.m. Friday, May 9, and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 10.
