LISBON – Rain or shine, groundbreaking ceremonies for Lisbon’s new elementary school on Mill Street will take place between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3.
Residents are invited to join school officials for a tour of the site and to view drawings of the new school.
There will be refreshments. Music will be provided by students.
The $12,899,710 school, which will replace Lisbon Elementary and Morse schools, will house students from kindergarten through grade six. It is slated to open for classes in September 2004.
Due to limited parking at the site, the School Committee is asking people to park their vehicles at Marion T. Morse Elementary or Lisbon Elementary school lots, where free bus shuttles will be provided to transport people to the site every 15 minutes between 10:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
The last trip back to the school from the site will be at 2:15 p.m.
