1924 – 2003

LIVERMORE – Romeo J. St. Pierre, 79, a longtime resident of River Road in Livermore, passed away Thursday, May 1, at his home with his family at his side.

He was born on March 15, 1924, in Rumford, the son of Jules and Antonia Goulette St. Pierre. He attended schools in Livermore and graduated from Livermore Falls High School, class of 1943.

On May 18, 1946, he married Jane A. Castonguay at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. He resided all of his life in Livermore, where he owned and operated a dairy farm for 29 years. He also worked for International Paper Co., Androscoggin Mill in Jay as a woodroom supervisor, retiring in 1983.

He was selectman for the Town of Livermore for six years. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 320 of Jay where he served as past Grand Knight of the 4th Degree Assembly. He was also a member of the I.P. Quarter Century Club.

He enjoyed his gardens, fishing, woodworking, quilting and loved being on the golf course with his friends.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years of Livermore; six sons and their wives, Norman and Janice of Jay, George and Jennifer of Jay, Phillip and Sally of Charleston, SC, Roger and Susan of Livermore, Robert and Ruby of Livermore, Raymond and Judy of Jay; seven daughters and their husbands, Anita and Pat Hill of Jay, Annette and Rocky Lake of Livermore, Anna and Reggie Lake of Jay, Susan and Kevin McCarthy of Winthrop, Yvonne and Mark DeMillo of Jay, Pauline and Doug Boivin of Jay and Bertha and Ted Flagg of Livermore; four brothers and their wives, Albert and Connie of Jay, Emile and Annette of Rumford, Alfred and Camille of New Hampshire, and Roland and Linda of Livermore; three sisters, Irene Castonguay of Livermore, Alice and her husband Francis Castonguay of Livermore, and Juliette and her husband Amedee Maurais of Jay; many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his 34 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, Rene St. Pierre.
