I would like to share some information on the subject of gambling (games of chance).

Every day of the week, plus two on a certain day, are scheduled bingo games. Almost every school event has someone selling 50/50 chances. Some social events are flooded with 50/50 tickets.

Some churches fall into the gambling dilemma as well. Many retail stores have scratch tickets or state lottery outlets. The VFW, Eagles Club, American Legion are active in gambling.

Our community is flooded with games of change (gambling). We raise our children in the atmosphere of gambling.

The state of Maine agrees there is a problem with addiction but they promote this very thing. As in any addiction, the victim very seldom admits it. Apparently, the state of Maine assumes that the end justifies the means. People on limited income are drawn into the illusion that they are going to hit it big.

Wake up Maine. We already have a problem without the casinos.
