As land abutters to Lake Street School we are in favor of the proposed addition. It is a long overdue project.
Our six children went to school there and now two grandchildren attend Lake Street.
There was a meeting on April 15 for abutters to the school. There were people at the meeting whose property does not abut the school. The meeting for the public was scheduled for May 8 and is now canceled.
This city is growing and needs more up-to-date schools. We hope all who oppose the school will have second thoughts and agree to its being built.
The school needs to stay here as K-6. The future of this city lies in the generations that will be going to this school. In the long run it will cost taxpayers more for upkeep on old buildings and extra buses to transport kids to various schools.
Good luck to Jude Cyr, Justin Leary, Barbara Eretzian and the building committee that is working long, strenuous hours to make this project a reality. They need the support of the citizens of Auburn for a much needed and worthwhile project.
Donna and Richard Applegarth, Auburn
