LEWISTON – The Successful Aging Series will present a program on incontinence and prostate cancer from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 8, in the d’Youville Pavilion resident dining room.
The series provides educational sessions on various topics related to aging. “Incontinence, Bladder and Prostate Issues” will be presented by Leslie Salvatore and Amy Lavalee, occupational therapists with the Incontinence Clinic at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. Dr. Jabbar Fazeli, local geriatrician and medical director at d’Youville Pavilion, will also bring his expertise to the discussion and advise on issues around prostate and bladder conditions in older men.
The program will discuss types, causes and treatments for incontinence in women and men and will look at bladder and prostate issues that commonly affect men. Additionally, attendees will learn about detection and prevention for both conditions.
The series is open to the public free, and light refreshments will be served. Reservations are required by calling 777-4038.
