As a registered Democrat, I’m writing to commend and thank Sen. Olympia Snowe for her courage in rejecting the Republican Party push to pass the Bush tax plan that greatly favors the rich. And, along with Sen. Susan Collins, opposed the Bush push to open up the Alaska wilderness for oil drilling which could spoil the natural and fragile environment.

It does us good to see that our Maine senators will take a stand opposing the party politics and show they are doing their own thinking to favor the nation’s welfare.

Keep up the good work, Sen. Snowe and Sen. Collins.
