LISBON – Jon Charette drilled an early double to drive in the only run Lisbon would need in a 12-0 thumping of Carrabec in MVC baseball Friday.

Charette had a pair of hits and drove in three runs while Greg Roy added three singles to spark the offense for the Greyhounds (6-0).

Tim Sautter picked up the win with relief help from John Howers. The two pitchers limited the Cobras (1-5) to one single.

Oak Hill 5, MCI 0

PITTSFIELD – Pat Duchette and Mike Daggett combined to shut out MCI, combining on a two-hitter and striking out seven batters in Oak Hills’ 5-0 win over the Huskies Friday.

The Raiders struck early with three runs in the first inning and never looked back, relying on their stellar pitching and the 13 infield assists to improve their unbeaten KVAC record to 10-0.

MCI’s pitching settled down after the first two innings, as Ryan Kennedy and reliever Kevin McPhail prevented the Raiders from notching another hit for the remainder of the game following the second inning.

Leavitt 7, Morse 1

BATH – Jamey Brewer laced a double to left field to score David Hopkins with the eventual game-winning run as Leavitt handed Morse a 7-1 setback in baeball action Friday.

Brandon Smith pitched a gem, allowing four hits and one walk, while striking out five to earn his first win of the season.

Lance Poland chipped in with a double for the Hornets (4-6), who exploded for seven runs over the fifth and sixth innings.

Buckfield 13, Sacopee 2

BUCKFIELD – Scott Wetherell tossed a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts as Buckfield grabbed a 13-2 victory from Sacopee Valley.

The Hawks bounced out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, but that would be all the scoring they could muster. The Hawks’ defense committed five errors.

Tim Fortier led the Buck’s (6-1) offense with a double and triple for a pair of RBIs, while Wetherell also tallied a triple to assist in his pitching effort.

Winthrop 5, Monmouth 4

MONMOUTH – Jason Allen smashed a solo shot in the top of the seventh for a much needed insurance run to lift Winthrop to a 5-4 triumph over Monmouth in MVC baseball action Friday.

The Mustangs (3-3) punched out two runs in the first inning, but saw a 3-1 lead go by the boards in the fifth when the Ramblers (3-3) scored three runs on a series of Monmouth mistakes. Allen’s homer proved to be valuable as the Mustangs reclaimed a run in the bottom of the seventh.

Kyle Pelletier hit a home run for the Mustangs, while Winthrop’s Dustin Harrington also slugged a round-tripper.

Telstar 11, Mt. Abram 6

SALEM – Brian Zinchuk and August Reiss pounded out a double apiece to lift Telstar to an 11-6 win over Mt. Abram in MVC baseball action.

Sophomore Robbie Thorndike pitched a strong first five five innings for the Roadrunners (1-7), but simply ran out of steam. The Rebels bounced back from a Roadrunner five-run third inning to tie the game, with four in the fourth and never looked back.

Sterling Pingree and Sam Witherspoon tallied a double each for the Roadrunners.

Gray-New Gloucester 11, Cape Elizabeth 1

CAPE ELIZABETH – Pitcher Louis Bernardini tossed a six-hitter and helped out on offense with four hits and two RBIs as Gray-New Gloucester dismantled Cape Elizabeth 11-1 Friday evening.

Jordan Yanni joined Bernardini with four hits and two RBIs for the Patriots (4-5), who exploded for five runs in the fourth inning to put the game out of reach.

Conner Casey had two hits for the Capers (4-5).

Jay 1, Dirigo 0

JAY – Austin Ouellette scored the game-winning run to lift Jay to a 1-0 win over Dirigo in MVC baseball action.

Ouellette beat the throw home from third base when Brandon Purrington drilled a shot down the third base line for the Tigers (6-3).

Jacob Turner outdueled Corey Wing of the Cougars (5-4) for the win.

Liv. Falls 4, Boothbay 0

BOOTHBAY – Levi Jones tossed seven innings of shutout ball and fanned eight Boothbay hitters as Livermore Falls blanked Boothbay 4-0.

Todd Cote was the lone hitter for the Andies (5-3) with multiple hits, driving in two insurance runs in the sixth, after scoring the eventual game-winner in the fifth.

Brian Babcock went the distance for the Seahawks, while Will Carroll tallied the lone extra base hit, a double for Boothbay (2-3).

Kents Hill 10, Hebron 0

READFIELD – Kevin Nicholls slapped a pair of doubles to lead Kents Hill to a 10-0 shelling of Hebron in baseball action Friday.

Kents Hill (9-2) scored all the runs it would need with three in the first inning. Pitcher Hank Barker went four innings, giving up one hit and striking out six to earn the victory.

Matt Darrah took the loss for Hebron (3-7).
