The programs recognized include providing bike safety workshops to 40,000 schoolchildren, supporting hundreds of miles of bike paths and trails, obtaining more paved shoulders on Maine’s highways, production of the Share the Road TV campaign and educating legislators and law enforcement on bicyclists rights and responsibilities.

This year’s program will bring bicycle safety presenters into another 100 schools statewide, reaching more than 10,000 additional children in Maine. The presentations cover rules in proper helmet fit, dressing for safety, doing the ABC Bike Check and rules of the road.
