1943 – 2003

NORWAY – Justin A. McAllister, 59, of Norway died Friday evening, May 9, at Stephens Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Norway on May 31, 1943, the son of Merle (Pete) and Edith Russell McAllister, and graduated from Bridgton Academy in 1961. He worked in area shoe shops, at Oxford Homes, and most recently at Tambrands in Auburn. He was a member of the Maine Country Music Association, Downeast Country Music Association, and president of the McAllister Clan. He enjoyed racing, bingo, playing cribbage and, most of all, his family. He married Dawnalyn Jack on Oct. 6, 1974.

Survivors include his wife of Norway; a daughter, Sheila Varney of Poland; a son-in-law, Justin Varney of Auburn; four grandchildren, Edith, Caleb, Sierra and Skyla; his special grandmother, Bertha Johnson; and special aunt, Wanda Johnson.
