As I do every year, I took my daughter to the Maine State Parade this year. Overall, I was not very impressed.

However, what really upset me was the fact that the Edward Little High School band was not in attendance. I wonder why they were not there.

It seems to me that if the “Twin Cities” are hosting this parade, both cities should be represented by their high school bands.

On the other hand, I must say the Lewiston band gave a great performance.

Editor’s note: The EL band was in Williamsburg, Va., participating in a band and chorus competition. The EL musicians won a number of awards in that contest and would have participated in the parade had they been in town.
