LEWISTON – A lively discussion was held during the Celebration of Reading book review of “Empire Falls” by Maine author Richard Russo at Mr. Paperback.

Discussing the novel were Peggy Fournier, Louise Pare, Eloise O’Neill, Helen Archambault, Alex Karayianis, Richard Speer and moderator Anne LaRocca. After the discussion, Bessie Hildreth, Helen Palange and Rose Nichols decided to read the novel.

All agreed that the book held their interest, that the wide range of characters were quite believable, that the descriptive scenery was typically Maine and the story was full of unexpected twists and turns.
