1933 – 2003

FARMINGTON – Gilbert N. “Gill,” “Gibby” Dalton, 70, of Jay, died Monday, May 12, shortly upon arrival at the Franklin Memorial Hospital Emergency Room.

He was born Jan. 4, 1933, in Riley, the son of Nelson E. and Carrie A. (Allen) Dalton. He received his education in Jay schools and married Hazel McLean of Rumford in 1984.

He worked in local shoe shops and retired from GH Bass. He was a US Army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel of Jay; five sons, Rexton of Riley, Randy and his wife, Donna of Jay, Reginald of NY, Ronald of Riley and Roger of Jay; one daughter, Linda Jacques of Oxford; one stepdaughter, Tina Rose and her husband, Woodrow of Jay; one sister, Flora Ellis and her husband, Clayton of Standish; 14 grandchildren, Luke, Hunter, Morgan, Greg, Krystal, Amanda, Zachary, Leslie Ann, Douglas and Heidi Dalton, Jonathan and Sarah Jacques, Gavin Hiltz and Dylan Rose; and several nieces and nephews.
