‘Go to Church’ day

AUBURN – Rebekah Assembly President Polly Burlock has designated Go to Church Sunday for all Rebekahs in the state on Sunday, May 18. The Rebekahs in District 3, comprised of Fidelity Rebekah Lodge 4 and Liberty Rebekah Lodge 94 of Auburn, Colfax Rebekah Lodge 27 of Mechanic Falls and Nina Rebekah Lodge 86 of Lisbon, will gather at the Minot Corner Methodist Church for the 10 a.m. service. Those who prefer an earlier service will attend the First Congregational Church, Elm Street, Mechanic Falls, at 9 a.m.

Lodge meeting

AUBURN – Liberty Rebekah Lodge 94 of Auburn will meet Monday, May 19, for a 6 p.m. potluck supper with other lodges in the district, Fidelity 4, Colfax 27 and Nina 86, taking part. Glennys Wilkins, a representative of the Rebekah Assembly president, will present a school of instruction at the 7 p.m. meeting.

AARP talk

LEWISTON – The Androscoggin Chapter of AARP will meet at 1:15 p.m. Monday, May 19, in the Multi-Purpose Center Seniors Room, Birch Street.

Speaker will be Wendy Pollack, Extension educator with the University of Maine Cooperative Extension. Her topic will be “Who Gets Gram’s Pie Plate.” Her goal is to help guide folks when passing on personal possessions following a death or family crisis.

The board of directors will meet at 12:30 p.m. Attendance and pot of gold drawings will be held followed by refreshments. Everyone is welcome.

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners of the annual membership game at the Multi-Purpose Center on May 12 were: N/S, first, Anna Vitiello and Randy Silver, second overall; second, Eleanor Griffin and Paul Beegel; third, Beverly Dolan and Rosemarie Goodwin; fourth, Eleanor Wigton and Genice Bugel; fifth Helen Little and George Vogt, fifth overall; Cynthia and Bill Clifford, third overall in B, second in C; Betty and Doug Sise, fourth overall in B.
