LEWISTON – “Are You As Tall As You Thought You Were” will be the subject of a special Accenting Women’s Health program on Wednesday, May 14, at Central Maine Medical Center.

Orthopedic specialist Dr. Ingrid Eriksson of Central Maine Orthopaedics in Auburn, will discuss how osteoporosis can render bones porous and prone to fracture and compression. Her presentation will explore the causes of osteoporosis, who is at risk for developing it, how it can be prevented and how it can be treated.

Participants will also be given the opportunity to undergo a painless, noninvasive preliminary osteoporosis scan. A question and answer session will follow.

The program will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the CMMC Conference and Education Center, now located on the ground floor of the 12 High Street Medical Office Complex.
