LEWISTON – Mike Leclair had a spectacular day from the mound and at the plate to lift Lewiston to its first SMAA baseball win of the season Thursday afternoon, 8-2 over Westbrook at Franklin Pasture.

The Blue Devils (1-12) pounded out 11 hits, their first double-digit effort of the season. Pat Ouellette, Joe McGrath and Leclair each notched a double in the contest. Leclair’s was a two-run poke with two outs in the second inning.

Leclair kept the Blue Blazes (5-8) scoreless after allowing a pair of runs in the first inning.

Mt. Blue 3, Leavitt 2

FARMINGTON – Jason Shaw stroked an RBI single with two outs in the seventh inning to lift Mt. Blue to a 3-2 KVAC win over Leavitt.

Ben Saviello allowed four hits in earning his second win of the season for the Cougars (8-5).

Jamie Brewer led the Hornets (5-8) with a double, while Jordan Morris sustained the loss.

Oak Hill 8, Camden Hills 1

WALES – Mike Daggett amassed 13 strikeouts and walked just three batters to lead Oak Hill to an 8-1 KVAC victory over Camden Hills.

Kyle Harrington, Adam Shaffstall and Pat Duchette provided three RBIs each for the Raiders (11-1).

Winthrop 8, Lisbon 5

WINTHROP – Winthrop scored five runs in the first inning and Joel Weisberger plated Dustin Harrington for another key run in the second as the Ramblers claimed an 8-5 MVC verdict over Lisbon.

The Ramblers (4-5) went on a five-run tear in the first inning.

Tavis Hasenfus cracked a pair of hits, scored a run and chalked up two RBIs in the win.

Josh Willey led the Greyhounds (7-2) with a double.

Forest Hills wins pair

RANGELEY – Rangeley dropped an 8-7 heartbreaker in the opener, and Forest Hills scored seven runs in the seventh inning of the nightcap for a 13-7 victory and an EWC doubleheader sweep.

With one out in the seventh inning of the first game, the Lakers allowed the winning run to cross the plate by throwing out a runner attempting to steal second.

Kip Paradise homered for Forest Hills in the fateful seventh frame of Game Two.

Edward Little 7, Windham 2

WINDHAM – Rory Flynn smacked a two-run double and Derek Miller followed with a two-run homer to punctuate a four-run fifth inning that hoisted Edward Little to a 7-2 SMAA triumph over Windham.

Flynn went the distance on the mound for the Red Eddies (4-9), striking out five while walking two. Kyle Smith helped the cause with two hits and an RBI, while Nick Lawler and David Lutz each scored two runs.

Oxford Hills 3, Lawrence 1

SOUTH PARIS – Garrett Olson and Rob McVety combined on a three-hitter in Oxford Hills’ 3-1 KVAC win over Lawrence. Olson struck out six over five innings to notch his fifth win of the season. McVety tallied his first save with two spotless innings of relief. Chris Henderson doubled and scored on a wild pitch in the second inning. Olson and Henderson each delivered an RBI single in the third.

St. Dom’s 9, OOB 4

AUBURN – Freshman Brady Blackman pitched three hitless innings of relief and cracked a crucial base hit to protect unbeaten St. Dom’s 9-4 WMC win over Old Orchard Beach.

Ryan Turgeon doubled twice and Ian Pullen ripped a triple for the Saints (9-0), who will play five more games in the next six days. OOB (4-6) led 4-2 in the fifth before the Saints pushed across four runs, two on a single by Blackman. St. Dom’s added three more in the sixth, launched by Pullen’s leadoff triple and a Turgeon two-bagger.

Lacrosse

Lewiston 13, Noble 9

LEWISTON – Adam Toutain scored five goals to lead Lewiston to its eighth straight win in boys’ lacrosse, a 13-9 decision over Noble. Kirk Bolduc chipped in three goals, while Jon Fournier added two goals and two assists.

Shane Elwell paced the Knights (5-4) with five goals. Billy Brooks made 13 saves for Lewiston.
