I would like to end all the gossip around town about a certain organization called LAYCL.
Many people are asking if the league has folded, so to speak.
Well let me assure you and anyone else who reads this, LAYCL is up and running and better than they have ever been before!
What is LAYCL, you ask?
Well, technically, it stands for Lewiston Area Youth Cheering League. But, what is it really?
It is a nonprofit organization, which enables children from pre-K to 8th grade to learn the art of self-discipline, self-esteem, good sportsmanship and the value of having fun!
LAYCL gets the children involved in several community events such as The Maine Children’s Cancer Walk, Lions Tournament, Christmas tree lighting ceremony, Maine State Parade, cheering competitions and much more.
LAYCL may have had some bad luck last year, but they are back! They have a lot of fresh new faces and positive attitudes!
As a parent of a girl who cheers for LAYCL, I would like to thank the dedicated coaches and board members who have stepped up to the plate to ensure that LAYCL is around for a long time to come. For I wouldn’t think about letting my child cheer with anyone else!
