1939 – 2003

PORTLAND – Claudette S. Bosse, 63, of Durham died Sunday morning, May 18, at Maine Medical Center surrounded by her family.

She was born in Van Buren on Nov. 2, 1939, a daughter of Thomas and Aurore (Lapointe) Pelletier. She graduated from St. Dominic Regional High School in Auburn in 1958 and remained a lifelong resident of this community.

On Nov. 26, 1959, she married Gerald Bosse. She worked for Peoples Bank for 30 years. Many of those years were spent as a branch manager at several of the bank’s locations in the greater Lewiston-Auburn area and surrounding communities.

She was a member of the Kiwanis Club and served for a time on the board and as treasurer of the Western Area Agency on Aging. As her children were growing up, she was also very actively involved at both St. Peter’s School and at St. Dom’s High School. Among the things Bosse greatly enjoyed were spending quality time with her seven grandchildren, cooking for family and friends, hosting parties, doing various craft activities and traveling with friends to different places. She also loved the traditional holidays when her whole family could get together.She was a loving wife and mother who had a strong faith and died the way she lived, with dignity and grace.

She leaves her husband of 43 years, Gerald of Durham; three daughters, Theresa Gallupe and husband Glen of Scarborough, Annette Saucier and husband Clayton of Lewiston, and Michelle Bosse and husband John Egan of Freeport; a son, Thomas and wife Christine of Sabattus; seven grandchildren, Maria and Anthony Saucier, Spencer, Emma, and Maya Egan and Joseph and Katie Bosse; and one sister Germaine Rioux and husband Willie of Lewiston. She was predeceased by a sister, Theresa Goulet.
