PORTLAND – Three seminarians will be ordained to the priesthood this summer by Bishop Joseph Gerry, OSB.
Paul LaBree, 31, of Old Town, will receive the sacrament of Holy Orders at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 24, at his home parish, Holy Family Church in Old Town. LaBree was ordained a deacon a year ago and has served in that capacity at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Portland.
On Saturday, June 7, 44-year-old David Raymond will be ordained at St. Luce Parish in his hometown of Frenchville at 10 a.m. Raymond was ordained a deacon a year ago and has served in that position at Holy Family Parish, Lewiston.
Kevin Martin, 32, of Caribou will be ordained at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, in his home parish at Holy Rosary Church. Martin was ordained a deacon last year and served at St. Mary’s Parish, Bangor.
Republican women to meet
HALLOWELL – The Maine Federation of Republican Women will hold a statewide meeting at 10 a.m.Wednesday, May 28, at Maine Republican Headquarters, 50 Water St. Kathy Watson, chairwoman of the Maine State Republican Committee, will be the speaker.

Women’s workshop
AUGUSTA – A free, 3-hour training program for Maine women, “Introduction to Hand & Power Tools,” will be offered at two locations in June.
On June 10, the program will be in Portland at the Portland Arts and Technology High School. The second will be June 12 at Maranacook Adult Education in Readfield at Maranacook High School. Each program will be 5:30 to 9 p.m.
Students will learn about hand and power tools, safe tool handling and reading a tape measure and carpenter square. Each student will assemble and leave with a wood toolbox. A senior industrial designer from Irwin Industrial Tools and a Women Unlimited employee will teach the class.
