AUBURN – Winning pitcher Jordan Blackman legged out an inside-the-park homer as Gee & Bee Sports defeated Caron’s of South Lewiston 18-4 in the Major Softball Division. Dominique Herman and Emily Grund were the other top sticks. Jen Fecteau and Emily Johnson were defensive standouts.

Auburn Firefighters edged VFW 4-2 in the Major Division. Billy Brewster and Shawn Hird were repeat hitters, with Brewster clubbing a triple and Hird a double. Ryan Timberlake also had a key hit. Steve Knowlton homered and tripled for VFW.

LEWISTON – Cross Insurance edged Mike Morin’s Auto 6-5 in an 8-inning thriller in the Major Division. Casey Parker stole home for the winning run. He pitched 6 innings of 3-hit ball, striking out 13. Alex Parker fanned 4 batters in the final 2 frames for the win. Cody Lessard collected a triple and single and Scott Wilson made a game-saving catch in the last of the 8th. Alex Olsen and Tucker Beaudoin combined for 15 strikeouts for Morin. Spencer Teixeira was a repeat hitter.

Reed Distributors earned 2 wins in recent action in the Major Division. Reed outslugged Mike Morin’s Auto Center 20-10 as winning pitcher Greg Labonte struck out 9 and aided his cause with 3 hits. Zach Parker led with a 4-4 night, including a double. Alex Brochu added 2 safeties. . . Reed also beat Falcon Shoe 18-3 as Labonte fanned 13. Joe Sullivan and Cam Hart whacked 2 hits each, Parker hitting a double and Sullivan a 3-bagger. Rob Leeman paced Falcon with a double and homer. DJ St. Pierre ripped a triple.

South Lewiston

LEWISTON – Austin Renaud hurled a nifty game, striking out 8, as Aroostook Fence knocked off Hammond Lumber 14-1 in the Major Division.

Tyler Hartman was the hitting star, cracking a pair of singles. Chuck Faletra and Patrick Roy both had a good night at the plate for Hammond, with Feletra collecting 2 hits, one a triple.
