1954 – 2003

LISBON FALLS – Robert Lee Harris, 48, known by everyone as “Big Bob,” was born in Lisbon Falls on July 28, 1954, the son of Cecelia and Kenneth J. Harris.

He attended Lisbon schools and has worked for the last few years as a facility supervisor at Maine Yankee where he has been loved and respected by his crew. He touched the lives of many with his generosity, kindness and thoughtfulness.

During the last week of his life he was lovingly cared for by his wife, children and other family members and friends. He was visited by so many people who wanted to pay their last respects that the yard looked like Bob’s Used Car Lot.

He was a member of the Lisbon Fish and Game Association and of the United Bikers of Maine. He had a great love of the outdoors and spent many happy hours fishing, hunting, ice fishing and on his motorcycle and was a devoted Ricky Craven NASCAR fan. His dream was to see Ricky Craven become the champion.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Elaine (Alexander) Harris; daughter, Stephanie and partner Brian Bouvier; son, Bob and wife Diana; grandson, Austin who has made his home with them since birth; grandsons, Kenneth and Jared; granddaughters, Savannah and Olivia; sister, Virginia Starbird; brother, Ken Harris; three stepsisters, Barbie, Donna and Sam; and several nephews who have played a significant role in his life as well as several other nieces and nephews. Others who he has considered as a part of his family are brother-in-law Jason, sister-in-law, Cindy, and friend and mentor “my personal traveling praying cop” Pat Gagnon. He loved all of Elaine’s family as his own.

He was predeceased by his mother and father; three sisters, Gloria, Barbie and Arlene; two nephews, Jeff Blake and Don Starbird; a special brother-in-law, Rodney Starbird; stepfather, Rudy Snay; and stepbrother, Fred Snay.
