WINDHAM – Deanna Maxim’s bases-loaded double keyed a seven-run seventh inning for Edward Little as they rolled past Windham, 11-2, in SMAA softball action Wednesday. Kathy McKinney singled to lead off for the Red Eddies, while Kendra Keene tallied two hits overall. Brittany Short scattered ten hits while earning her seventh win of the season.
Kelly McDonough and Alyssa Stiles led Windham’s offense with a double each, while Chelsey Conant took the loss for the Eagles.
Mt. Abram 8, Winthrop 2
WINTHROP – Kara Duman smashed two doubles driving in two runs apiece propelling Mt. Abram to an 8-2 win over Winthrop Wednesday.
Ashley Dalessandro topped off the scoring with her seventh inning double.
Pitcher Sara Martin (4-0) goes undefeated for the season.
Nikki Emery had a triple in the seventh for Winthrop.
Livermore Falls 20, Carrabec 11
LIVERMORE FALLS-Danielle Gray’s two run homer in the fourth inning helped power Livermore Falls to a 20-11 win over Carrabec Wednesday.
Taryn Flagg also homered for the Andies.
Valen Richard went 4-for-4 including a double. Sarah Hamilton also had a double.
Cassey Ried doubled collecting four hits for Carrabec.
Telstar 16, Mtn. Valley 2
RUMFORD – Jillian Kimball had an excellent outing on the mound as Telstar cruised to a 16-2 win over Mountain Valley in MVC softball action Wednesday.
The Rebels (14-2) pounded out 11 hits and took advantage of eight Falcon (4-10) errors to score runs in each of their five at bats.
Lauren Hart, Ashley Stromboli and Kimball contributed a double apiece in the effort.
Despite taking the the mound loss for the Falcons, Kristin Arsenault was the only repeat hitter in the game with a pair of singles.
Dirigo 7, Lisbon 2
LISBON – Hayleigh Daley and Augie Fenstermacher hit back-to-back doubles in the first inning to spark Dirigo to a 7-2 win over Lisbon in MVC softball action Wednesday.
The Cougars (11-5) made quick use of the bats, tallying three hits and a pair of runs before the fifth batter of the first inning came to the plate. Fenstermacher limited the Greyhounds (2-14) to a single run in the second and fifth innings to earn the win.
Jay 3, Madison 2 10 innings
JAY- Jana Fetterhoff singled home Rachel Gagne with the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning as Jay defeated Madison 3-2 Wednesday afternoon.
Gagne led off the 10th with a single, then hustled all the way to third on a sacrifice bunt before scoring.
Winning pitcher Bre Loon recorded 16 strikeouts in the win for the Tigers.
