TURNER – Messalonskee took advantage of seven Leavitt errors in the final two innings to score five runs and walk away with a 5-2 victory in the KVAC softball championship.

The Eagles (17-1) grabbed a 2-0 lead in the top of the sixth. Gretchen Conn belted an RBI triple in the bottom of the frame to help the Hornets (17-1) tie it.

Clarice Pepper scattered three hits to earn the win.

Sam St. Hilaire also allowed only three hits in the tough-luck loss. The game did not count in the final Eastern Class A Heal Point standings, which are expected to be released today.

Buckfield 15, Valley 0

BUCKFIELD – Danielle Buswell had a pair of singles, including a two-run poke in the first inning, to help her cause on the mound as Buckfield shut out Valley in a 15-0 in EWC softball action Thursday.

Colleen Violette had a hot day at the plate, contributing three singles for the Bucks (12-2).

Tiffany Dunn and Charlee Hayes smacked a double and single apiece.

Buswell tossed a two-hitter as the Bucks played error-free ball.
