1918-2003

LEWISTON – Eunice M. Johnson, 85, of 156 Main St., Roak Block, Auburn died unexpectedly Thursday morning May 29, 2003 at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Auburn on Jan. 31, 1918, the daughter of Clifton and Abbie (Bickford) Johnson and had been a resident of this community for most of her life.

She was a graduate of Edward Little High School in the class of 1936.

During World War II she resided in Westover, Mass., where she was employed at the Westover Sub-Depot Training School having specialized in sheet metal. Later, she was employed as a floor lady in the local shoe industry until her retirement in 1980.

She was a member of the Auburn Methodist Church, First Auburn Senior Citizens, Robin Dow Senior Citizens and Remember When Senior Citizens in New Gloucester.

She enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting, playing beano and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by one sister, Annie Demers of Auburn; one sister-in-law Elaine Johnson of Cocoa, Fla.; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; and two brothers, Chester and Philip Johnson.
