1918 – 2003
AUGUSTA – Helen Voter Jones, 84, of Upper Narrows Lane, Winthrop, died Saturday evening, May 31, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta Campus, following a long illness.
She was born in Phillips on Nov. 19, 1918, the daughter of Percy A. and Fannie M. Marden Voter.
She was educated in Phillips schools, graduating from Phillips High School in 1936.
She married Winfield G. Jones on Nov. 5, 1938, in Phillips.
She was a member of the Mexico Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Janice and her husband, Robert Hall, of Standish; a son, Raymond Jones, of Winslow; and a daughter, Linda and her husband, Ronald Burke, of Winthrop. She is also survived by two very special granddaughters, Brenda Hall and her husband, Bret Overturf, of Corinth, and Andrea and her husband, Michael DeSimone, of Waterboro; three great-grandchildren, Kaj, Tuuli, and Maija Overturf, all of Corinth; a sister-in-law, Ruth Voter, of Mexico; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, PCA Joyce Waning, of Winthrop.
She was predeceased by her husband, Winfield; two brothers, Stanley and Russell Voter, both of Mexico; and a daughter-in-law, Okson Jones, of Winslow.
