BENNINGTON, Vt. – Mr. Bradford G. “Brownie” Jones, 83, a resident of East Road, Bennington, Vt., died unexpectedly Monday, June 2, at his residence.

Born June 14, 1919, in Manchester, Vt., he was the son of the late Bert and Helen Grey Jones. He received his education in Manchester. Mr. Jones was a U. S. Army veteran.

Mr. Jones married the former Amy Bennett July 31, 1965, at the Embery Methodist Church in Cambridge, N.Y.

Prior to entering the Army he was employed at the William E. Morse Construction Co. In 1948 he went to work at the BenMont Paper Corp. and retired from there in 1981.

Mr. Jones was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars #1332, the American Legion Post 13, the Bennington Club, AARP Chapter 269 and the Bennington Moose Lodge #1233.

He was full of fun and enjoyed visiting with his many friends, hunting, fishing and dancing.

Survivors include his wife, Amy B. Jones of Bennington; a son, Klaus W. Jones of Petersburgh, N.Y.; one grandchild; one great grandchild; a brother, Albert Jones of Bennington; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Jones was predeceased by a sister and four brothers, Catherine Stratton, Forrest Jones, Gordon Jones, Paul Jones and Stanley Jones.
