PARIS – Few people are aware there is a pretty nature trail that runs along the Little Androscoggin River behind Oxford Hills Middle School.
Members of the Oxford Hills Trails Committee want to change that and will be out on the trail, cleaning and pruning from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, June 7, as part of National Trail Day.
“We’d like this to be the start of building an awareness of all the trails there are in the community,” said Joe Wyman, director of Healthy Oxford Hills.
People associated with Healthy Oxford Hills and the Norway Recreation Department have been in partnership working on the trails committee for the past several months. The trail behind the middle school runs about a quarter-mile, and the committee welcomes any volunteers from the community who would like to help out. Work to be done will be cleaning up litter and clearing the trail of small growth.
