FAYETTE – Students and school staff, historical society members, the Home and School Association, and local residents are combining forces to produce “Summertimes in Fayette” at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, at the Fayette Central School.

The program shares good times that senior citizens experienced in the 1930s and 1940s, and also shares current student plans for summertime 2003.

Everyone is welcome to attend the annual music and arts program. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Student artwork produced during the year will be on display in the gym.

Youth hockey

FARMINGTON – The Western Mountains Hockey and Skating Association, “Home of the Farmington Flyers,” will meet from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, in the Mount Blue High School library. Prospective players and their parents need to attend.

This will be an organizational meeting for summer hockey instruction and coordination of fund-raising activities. People can invite any youngsters between the ages of 8-12 who may be interested in playing and learning hockey this summer. Youngsters do not need to be experienced hockey players to participate.

‘Imaginary Invalid’

FARMINGTON – The Sandy River Players are presenting “The Imaginary Invalid” opening Thursday, June 12, at Alumni Theater at the University of Maine at Farmington.

The play runs at 7:30 p.m. on June 12-14 and 19-21, with one matinee at 2 p.m. June 22.

NEW SHARON – A yard and bake sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at the New Sharon Masonic Hall to benefit Tuesday’s Children and Vacation Bible School.

FARMINGTON – The Sandy River Valley Chapter of the Maine Genealogical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14, in the public library. People are being asked to bring their research problems for group discussion. Anyone interested in genealogy is welcome to attend.
