1927 – 2003

MINOT – Robert N. Nichols, 75, of Minot died peacefully Monday evening at his home.

He was born in Auburn, Nov. 4, 1927, the son of Dwight F. and Marguerite Parker Nichols. He attended Auburn schools and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1945.

“Bob” worked at various jobs over his lifetime because he enjoyed the variety, some include American Concrete, Clover Manor, Job Corp, City of Auburn. He enjoyed playing, coaching, refereeing and watching all sports.

He was a member of American Legion Post 150, Past Master and 48 year member of Tyrian Lodge 73 AF & AM and Kora Temple. He loved antique cars and owned a 1928 Model A, traveling around to various parades.

While wintering in Florida, he enjoyd shuffleboard. He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. During his illness he never complained, he loved his hospice nurse. On June 20, 1952 he married Arlene Tucker.

Survivors include his wife of Minot; a son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Barb of Winslow; a daughter, Karen Nichols of Minot; two grandchildren, Robbie and Sarah; three brothers, Dwight Nichols of Minot, Norm and Herbert Davis both of Auburn; three sisters, Marlene Foster of Minot, Maxine Martineau of Lewiston and Dawn Denham of Florida.
