LEWISTON – As Lewiston-Auburn prepares to celebrate the 11th annual Festival de Joie in August, this year’s list of entertainers includes international recording artist Debbie Myers.

With the entertainment schedule completed, the festival promises to be the best ever. New groups and returnees make up the schedule that promises to have something for everyone.

This summer’s event will feature a children’s playland with games, moon bounces and a dunk tank.

Dates for the Prelude are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, July 29, 30 and 31. The festival will be held at Railroad Park on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 1, 2 and 3. Anyone interested in participating in the prelude or parade should contact the festival committee as soon as possible.

July 29 will feature a concert at the Lewiston Multi-Purpose Center on Birch Street showcasing the group “Just Us.” The opening ceremonies will be held at 6 p.m. July 30 at the new Courthouse Plaza on Lisbon Street followed at 7 by a parade. Entertainment will continue until 10 p.m.

The festival committee will hold a volunteer meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, June 16, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 150 East Ave. Nearly 175 volunteers are needed in order to assure the success of the event. Everyone interested is invited to attend and find out about the volunteer benefit package.
