FARMINGTON – Violin students Jessica Parsons and Evan Fellman performed in a master class for Peter Zazofsky on May 31 in Nordica Auditorium on the University of Maine at Farmington campus.

Zazofsky is a world-renowned violin soloist, chamber musician and educator. He is the first violinist of the Muir String Quartet and is a member of the faculty at Boston University. Parsons and Fellman are students of Graybert Beacham at the Emery Community Arts Center String Program in Farmington. This event was sponsored by the Arts Institute of Western Maine, an affiliate of UMF.

Zazofsky worked with four students individually during the two-hour master class. The audience heard each student’s performance and listened intently as Zazofsky offered helpful comments, both musical and technical.

Also performing in the master class were Francesca Levigne (private student of Laurie Kennedy) and Anna Washburn (Farmington native who studies with Peter Zazofsky at BU).
