LEWISTON – Bernice “Bebe” Cote Lombard, 82, of Lewiston died Saturday morning , June 14, 2003, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born in Fort Kent, Sept. 25, 1920, the youngest of 11 children of Victorie and Flavie Cote Cyr.

She married Benjamin Lombard on July 6, 1948. They moved to Lewiston in 1955. Bernice had been a faithful communicant of Ste. Croix Parish and sang in the choir for 47 years.

She was employed at the former Jimmy’s Restaurant in Auburn, and as a food service worker until her recent retirement. She was a food service worker at Bates College.

In 1997, she made the cover of the Lewiston Adult Education Course Booklet as a recent recipient of her GED, an accomplishment she and her family were very proud of.

She was a well known volunteer at the Good Shepard Food Bank in Lewiston, having given much of her time for many years. She loved animals, especially cats.

She leaves behind a daughter, Carol Lombard, of Buxton; three sons, Ralph Lombard and his wife, Sherri, of Olympia, Wash., Richard Lombard and his wife, Dotti, of Augusta, her youngest son, Robert Lombard, and his wife, Heather, of Marysville, Wash.; a daughter-in-law, and godchild, Peg Lombard, who provided support and friendship. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ben, in 1995.
