1929 – 2003
Norway – Gordon Ira Snow, 74, died June 14, 2003, in Norway after a two-year battle with esophageal cancer, his loving family at home surrounded him.
Gordon was born on Jan. 25, 1929, in Norway, the son of Alfred G. and Rena (Wood) Snow.
Gordon married Jeanette Paradis in 1947. They have resided in Norway their entire lives. He was a well-known builder, having built more than 40 homes in the surrounding areas. Gordon also owned and operated the Pennesseewassee Sport Shop for 17 years.
Gordon is survived by his beloved wife; two daughters, Jacquelyn Snow Governale and her husband, John, of Norway, and Anita Hakala and her husband, Stephen, of Norway; grandchildren Allyson Chase of Brattleboro, Vt.; Joseph Governale of Norway; and Argentina, Sofie, Michael, Daniel Governale, Eliza Cedroni and her husband, Tom, and their children, Kaleb and Dante, all of Norway; and Seth Hakala of Port Orange, Fla; and several brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Michael Anthony Snow, his parents, his brothers Eddie, Steve and John and sister Pauline Cawthon.
He will be sadly missed by many members of the community and his loving family.
