LEWISTON – A number of University of Southern Maine/Lewiston-Auburn College students were honored recently at the college’s annual recognition ceremony.

Valerie Kettelhut of Durham and Jolaine Galibois-Barss of Hallowell were presented the Outstanding Achievement Award while Kim Chamberland of Auburn and Rose Fitch of New Gloucester were winners of the Distinguished Student Award.

In addition, several other awards were presented. The Service Learning Awards were given to Galibois-Barss and Julie Eastman of Sumner in recognition of the work they have done in the community.

Michelle Morgan of Auburn was presented the Literary Achievement and Service Award for her contributions to the student literary magazine.

The following students were inducted into the academic honor society of Phi Kappa Phi: Graduating seniors, Kettelhut, Morgan and Krista Thurlow of West Poland. Other students inducted were Grayson Wakefield of Bethel, Erin Adams of Oxford, Cheryl Donahue of Bowdoinham and Marie Jones of Brunswick.
