BANGOR – Leo J. Demers, 58, of Hudson, died June 14 at a Bangor hospital.
He was born Feb. 21, 1945 in Lewiston, the son of Henry and Alvinise (LaFlamme) Demers.
He served two tours of duty in Vietnam with the United States Army and was activated for Desert Storm. He worked as the Unit Administrator for the 1125 Army Reserve until his retirement in 2000.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Jacqueline “Jackie” (Roy) Demers of Hudson; four children, Kathy and her husband Dan D’Agostino of Hudson, John Staples and his wife Dina of Winterport, Michael Staples of East Corinth, Brian Staples and his fiancé Rebecca of Hudson; one brother, Robert Demers and his wife Murielle of Bristol, Conn.; six grandchildren, Dustin, Brett, Brandi, Cassie, Nicholas, and Sara; brother s and sister-in-laws, Larry and Irene Roy, and Norman and Louise Roy, all of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.
