TURNER – Boy Scout Derek Wyman of Troop 187, Turner, has earned his Eagle Scout award. In doing so he has completed his community service project.
The project included erosion control and prevention at Crystal Pond, or as most call it “Beals Pond.”
He planted shrubbery and trees, as well as installing a cedar post fence and another set of stairs for easy access to the water for fishing, canoeing and kayaking.
The rest stop can be seen by traveling on Route 4 approximately a half mile north of Northland Plaza. Funding was made available by Clean Water Act 319.
Those who donated their time on the project were Paul Carmichael, Pheoby Hardesty, Beth Hinkley, Leigh Jordan, Bill LeVertue, Jeremy LeVertue, Sam Madore, Tandra Pilgrim, Dick Thibodeau, Tyler Trenholme, Dan Turner, Jeremy Turner, Harold Wyman, Diane Wyman and Patrick Wyman.
