WILTON – On Tuesday, Wilton native Keith Swett will attend his first meeting as the town’s newest selectmen. He has been a member of the town’s Planning Board for the past five years.
Swett vied for the position against Leslie Brown and Michael Lilley. Swett received 240 votes, Lilley and Brown received 123 and 183 votes, respectively, for the three-year term.
Swett owns a band saw blade business, where he makes and sharpens band saw blades throughout New England. He also works as part-time postmaster at the East Dixfield post office and is a former 15-year employee of NAPA Auto Parts in East Wilton.
Swett has been a member of the East Dixfield Fire Department for seven years and a member of the Farmington Elks Lodge for 13. Swett has taken Firefighter I and training for handling hazardous materials. He has also taken various business and automotive classes.
Swett said he is open to listening and learning, and he plans to work toward making sure all townspeople are treated equally.
