1909 – 2003
ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – Edward Patrick Dolan, 94, a longtime resident of Mechanic Falls, died June 16 at his home in Florida.
He was born April 3, 1909, in Lynn, Mass., the son of Patrick J. and Flora Turcotte Dolan. “Eddie” attended school in Lynn, Mass., and worked as a renowned pattern maker (shoe designer) for over 50 years in the Lewiston/Auburn and Norway area shoe industry.
He was an exceptional baseball pitcher in his younger years, winning many awards and hurling three no hitters. He had a lifetime love of golf and continued to play into his 90’s. He was a longtime member of Our Lady of Ransom Church in Mechanic Falls and a Master of the Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Kinney Dolan of Zephyrhills, Fla.; two daughters, Patricia Emery and Sandra Emery both of Mechanic Falls; two sons, Richard Dolan of Stone Mountain, Ga., and Ron Dolan of Monson; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Elora Gammon Hutchinson; his second wife, Edith Labbe; a brother William “Bill” Dolan; and a son, Robert “R.L.” Dolan.
