1912 – 2003
LEWISTON – Eva M. Palmer, 91, died Tuesday, June 17, at the Central Maine Medical Center. She was a resident of Maple St. in Rumford.
Born in Mackaney City, Pa., on Jan. 24, 1912, she was the daughter of Adam and Annie Segle Paltanawick.
She attended Stephen’s High School in Rumford and worked for Boise Cascade Paper Mill in Rumford in the Instrumentation Dept. until her retirement.
She loved flowers and going for long drives and her two cats. She was married in 1935 to the late Frank A. Porter who died in 1944 and in 1948 she married the late Fred Palmer he died in 1994.
Survivors include her son, Ronald Porter and his wife Shirley of Windham; two daughters, Brenda D’Agostino of Peabody, Mass., and Diana Casey of Rumford; three brothers, John Paltanawick of Rumford, Joseph Palton and his wife Joyce of Roxbury and James Gelinsky and his wife Lorraine of Rumford; one sister, Margaret Viger of Rumford; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a devoted friend, Karen Porter of Rumford.
