1934 – 2003

LEWISTON – John A. Kennedy Sr., 69, of Webster Street, Lewiston, passed away on June 16, at his home, with his loving family by his side.

Born in Holyoke, Mass., June 14, 1934, the son of Edward and Elizabeth (Maguire) Kennedy, he served his country in the National Guard.

After serving, he was long-time employee of Appleton Corporation as a maintenance supervisor in Massachusetts.

After retiring to Maine, he worked as a newspaper carrier for the Sun Journal.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 12652 of Lewiston and also enjoyed woodworking.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 48 years, Claire; sons, John Jr. and Brian of Lewiston; brothers, James and Joseph of Holyoke, Mass.; sisters, Dorothy Gagnon and Gail Kwiecian of Holyoke, Mass.; granddaughters, Heather, Robyn, Katie and Sarah of Lewiston; and also several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by brothers, William, Robert and Edward; and sisters, Evelyn and Lillian.
