WILTON – Two Loon Maine-ia 2003 loon sculptures have been placed at the Academy Hill School and were recently viewed by students.
The Kandinsky Loon was painted by Hannah Upham and sponsored by Upcountry Artists, and My Coat of Color was painted by Joyce Dubay of New Vineyard, sponsored by Scott Landry of Shiretown Agency, Farmington.
Loon Maine-ia Coordinator Barbara Hathaway gave a short talk about protecting the loon sculptures and real loons.
She said it was fine to touch the sculptures carefully. Everyone should remember the sculptures are works of art and should be protected.
Loon walk maps are available at libraries, some stores, Wilton Town Office and Farmington and Wilton Chamber of Commerce.
Six more sponsors are needed for artists waiting to paint. Sponsors can be a single person or a group. To see how to help with this project call: 645-3449 or e-mail [email protected].
