ERIE, Pa. (AP) – Derek Nicholson drove in four runs to help the Erie SeaWolves beat the Portland Sea Dogs 6-3 Wednesday for a sweep of their Eastern League doubleheader.

Erie won the first game, 7-6, in eight innings.

Nicholson came off the disabled list between games and hit a three-run double in the third inning of the second game and added a sacrifice fly in the fifth. Scott Tousa and Matt Walker also drove in runs for Erie (33-38), which took a 6-0 lead.

Portland (38-27) rallied in the seventh against Mark Johnson on a three-run homer by Sean McGowan, his first.

Johnson earned the win in relief of starter Mike Spiegel, who worked three scoreless innings. Brian Schmack recorded the final three outs for his 14th save.

Felix Villegas allowed six runs in 4 1-3 innings and took the loss.

Erie won the first game with a five-run eighth against Portland relievers Charlie Weatherby and Anastacio Martinez. Leo Daigle had a two-run homer, his 11th.

, and Tonayne Brown drilled a two-run homer, his third, to complete the rally.
