LEWISTON – The Lewiston School Nutrition Program, in cooperation with the city of Lewiston Recreation Program, will offer a free summer food service program for children.

Breakfast and lunch will be served weekdays at the Multi-Purpose Center, Couture Center, Sunnyside Park, Hillview Apartments, Kennedy Park, Potvin Park, Tall Pines Playground and Camp Smiles.

All meals will meet the federal government guidelines and will be served June 23 through Aug. 15 at the park sites. Multi-Purpose Center ends Aug. 8. All meals must be eaten at the site, as participants are not allowed to remove food from the parks or playgrounds.

On rainy days, the children will be served at the Multi-Purpose Center and Couture Center. No meals will be served on July 4.

This is the 16th year for the program, which continues to be a joint effort of two Lewiston departments that expect to serve 400 children daily.
