WATERFORD – David Neufeld will host his annual open garden from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 21 and 22, at North Star Gardens. Neufeld is a garden columnist as well as being a professional garden designer and stoneworker.
Those not already familiar with North Star Gardens will find many species of trees, shrubs and perennials in bloom. Among Neufeld’s gardens are several water gardens, hosta walks, secret gardens, herb gardens, borders, arbors, trellises and shade gardens.
North Star Gardens is Neufeld’s private garden and the testing ground for many plants and materials that he incorporates in other gardens which he designs and builds.
In addition to enjoying walks on the garden paths, attendees can hear talks on garden subjects at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Bloomsday will be held rain or shine. Appropriate garden footware recommended. The garden is not handicap accessible. Reservations are advised for this free event and can be made by calling 207-583-4754 or emailing [email protected]
