1923 – 2003

BOLTON, CONN. – Armand R. Morin, 80, husband of Germaine Morin, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 18, with his family by his side.

He was born May 17, 1923, in Lewiston. He is the son of the late Joseph and Elaine (Sirois) Morin of Lewiston. He moved his family from Lewiston to Hartford in 1953 and then to Bolton in 1962.

He served in World War II from 1943 to 1946 in the U.S. Army as a Technician Fifth Grade and was stationed in Saipan. His military specialty was heavy equipment. Military decorations and citations included the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon and American Theater Campaign Ribbon. He was also an active member of the VFW in Vernon and most recently served three two-year terms as Commander.

He worked at Pratt & Whitney of West Hartford, Small Tool Division, and was later transferred to the Chandler Evans Division where he retired in 1987 after 30 years of service as a maintenance mechanic. He served on the Chandler Evans Fire Brigade and was President of Chandler Evans CB Club and a member of the Local Union 405 West Hartford.

He was a resident of Bolton for over 40 years and was very involved in his community. He served as a volunteer Constable for the Town Bolton and a volunteer Fire Police for the Bolton Fire Department. In addition, he was a marine officer and patrolled Lower Bolton Lake for many years under the jurisdiction of the DEP, as well as being a member of the Interstate Police Association. He was an active member of the Bolton Senior Center and will be missed by all his “buddies.”

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Germaine Turcotte Morin of Bolton; his son, Michael A. Morin and his wife Lisa of Marlborough; his two daughters, Ruth (Morin) Beaulieu of Bolton and Joanne Morin Hilton and her fiancé Ted Hartley of Huntington Beach, Calif.; three grandchildren, Andrea Lynn and Nathan William Beaulieu and Rachel Taylor Morin; a sister, Theresa Montaina of Pensacola, Fla.; a brother, Eddie Morin of Auburn; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, Bertrand Morin of Lewiston; a sister, Blanche Beauchense of Auburn; and a grandson, Adam Michael Morin of Marlborough.
