POLAND – New Auburn Legion Post 153 scored four runs in the first inning Thursday and added six more in the fifth to hammer out a 10-1 Zone 3 victory over Poland.

Mike Cormier ripped a grand slam in the fifth. Jay Verrill and Derek Miller each belted a double for NAL (2-0).

Greg Hird picked up the pitching win with seventh-inning relief help from Verrill. They combined on a four-hitter. Nick Colby notched Poland’s lone extra-base hit, a double.

Mid-Coast 9, Locke Mills 2

BATH – Mid-Coast took the lead in the third inning with three runs and cruised to a 9-2 win over Locke Mills.

Justin Clark had a two-run home run in the second for Mid-Coast (2-0).

Corey Wing had a two-run single in the third for Locke Mills’ only two runs of the game.

John Tefft pitched a complete game for the win. Corey Wing took the loss.

Anthony Ames had three RBIs and Andy Cantrell had an RBI single for Mid-Coast.

Cole Farms 5, Bessey Motors 1

GRAY – Cole Farms scored five runs in the third inning and held on to defeat Bessey Motors 5-1.

Shane Corcoran had an RBI single, Jon Aceto had a two-run double and Sam Tupper had a two-run single in the third.

Louie Bernardini pitched six scoreless innings for the win.
