KINGFIELD – The Sugarloaf Region Charitable Trust, a private, nonprofit trust dedicated to improving the quality of life for communities of the Sugarloaf area, has donated $250 to the ZONE for its level of creative after school and weekend programs developed for the youth of Phillips, Madrid and Avon.

The goal of the trust is to assist programs that promote services to benefit the growth of human service and cultural organizations as well as new organizations that will involve and improve the Sugarloaf area. The trust was established in 1984 when employees of Sugarloaf Mountain Corp. began contributing on a volunteer basis to the trust through payroll deductions.

“We are truly grateful for the support of this trust to continue our activity programs at the ZONE,”, remarked co-chairwoman Gillian Trapp. “It is donations such as this that keeps our spirits high and hopeful in the continuation of our longstanding efforts. Without the help of donations, the ZONE could not exist. There are many youth in the area who depend on the ZONE for social and cultural experiences outside of the home,” she added.

The Sugarloaf Regional Trust encourages groups to apply for funds by sending requests by Sept. 15 to Secretary, Sugarloaf Region Charitable Trust, Sugarloaf/USA, Kingfield, ME 04947-9799.
